Shaka Senghor has given hope to thousands of people. Whether helping curb recidivism in the prison system or helping young people find a better path for themselves, he has used his own story to show others how to find and reach their own potential. At 19, he was convicted of murder and sent to prison. Now he is a best selling author and lecturer with a past that informs his message without defining his future. His book, Writing My Wrongs: Life, Death, and Redemption in an American Prison, has landed him on the TED stage, on every major news outlet, and even on Oprah's couch.
